HOLIDAYS ARE GREAT FOR RECRUITERS

As a Business Owner with a contract division, I always viewed Holidays as “LOST HOURS” and almost in interruption of business. Sad but TRUE! I hear other owners view Holidays the same way and then it dawned on me. Holidays are also the best time to step away from business, enjoy our families and friends and recharge our batteries.
Recruiting is a TIME INTENSIVE occupation. It is definitely not a 9:00 - 5:00 PM type of career. So many of the activities we do are more effective AFTER normal w0rking hours, which include: interviewing a candidate over the phone, following up on recruiting presentations when a person can’t talk at work, de-briefing after a late afternoon interview, prepping the candidate ( so they can role play), reactivating files and much more.
Take time this week to RELAX, ENJOY and come back to your office REFRESHED and ready to set new records. I can’t help but also mention, this particular holiday has everyone confused. July 4th should not EVER happen on a Wednesday. Most companies are only closing on Wednesday,
some are leaving early on the 3rd and others are giving time off on Thursday the 5th. This is PERFECT for those candidates who have a difficult time taking off time from work for interviews. Make sure you know the working schedules this week of your most placeable candidates and see if your client’s hours could facilitate an interview when this candidate is NOT schedule to work. There is a SILVER LINING in everything!
I wish you and the people important in your life a Happy, Safe and Amazing July 4th!
