DISCOUNT YOUR FEE?

One of the questions I am asked most is whether you should reduce your fee. I don’t believe in negotiating the fee we charge. I think it’s important that you send your fee agreement up front and get it signed before you put one minute of work into a search.
On the other hand, if you have bills, you desparately need money to keep your doors open, and the only job order you have asks you for a discount, you may not have a choice if you are in “survival mode.” That is the only time I feel you should discount what you charge.
It is never about the Fee Percentage it is about Return on Investment. If you can show potential clients how you provide a great return on their investment, the fee is not important. Just remember we promise our clients to provide them with top talent - not the best we can find in our database. If you do a thorough search process, there is no reason why anyone wouldn’t easily realize the fee you charge was a very smart investment!
