Strategic Plan for 2006

During the month of December it is very important to start planning for your success in 2006! I would like to applaud the Illinois Staffing Association who recently held an all-day Strategic Planning Meeting for owners in our profession. Thank you ISA for allowing me to adddress your audience on the subject of Wealth Building and for allowing me to reconnect with a dear friend Sylvia Gaffney who then presented the strategic planning portion of the program. This all day session ended with training by Jeff Skretny, who I respect as a great friend and trainer. It was this program that made me realize I needed to discuss this topic with you TODAY.

It is a proven fact, if you write down your goals and put a time frame on those goals, you have dramatically increased your chances of attaining them. You need to write down the W-2 you want to see on December 31, 2006 and work backwards to the activity level you need to achieve to attain the production necessary to generate that income.

Strategic Planning and Business Plans are NOT only for owners in our profession. Recruiting is the closest you will ever come to having your own business…your desk is your Profit or Loss center, and you are the person 100% in charge of the results you achieve. Take time during this month to review what you have achieved this year and then write down specific plans for the coming twelve months. You need to review your strengths and weaknesses and plan to do more of those activities that represent your greatest strengths.

Recruiting is an extremely rewarding profession, but no one ever said it was “easy”. If you’re going to commit to our profession you need to make it more “FUN.” It’s interesting how we either LOVE or HATE what we do - recruiters are very rarely in the middle. If you’re having a great month -YOU LOVE IT, if you’re not having a good month, YOU PRETTY MUCH HATE IT! If you want to ENJOY your profession, the answer seems obvious - become a TOP PRODUCER. If you become a TOP PRODUCER, you will have consecutive great months and obviously you will LOVE YOUR PROFESSION!

The specific plans you make for 2006, can “launch” you to top production!

I know December is filled with added responsibilities and financial pressures, but please also take time to
listen to the carols, enjoy the lights, reconnect with friends, hug your family and help others, less fortunate than yourself.
