Recruiting is a profession that provides unlimited income, to anyone who is willing to master the placement process. It is for that reason that it is vitally important for you to learn how to manage your money starting NOW!
It is so tempting to go out and “spend” the big commission checks!
Most training in our profession only addresses “making” money and not near enough on how to build “wealth”. Wealth Building has become my focus this year and as a result Tony and I are on track to double our wealth within one year. I’ve invested over $50,000 since January on my own education on this topic and plan to share what I’ve learned with you in the coming months. It’s really “great stuff!”
Regardless of your current financial status, the most effective step you can take TODAY is to put 10% of your income into a “wealth account” for the allocation of assets. You’re going to pay down on whatever debt you currently have, but at the same time allocate this 10% to work toward eventual “financial freedom.” If you want to acquire the luxuries in life, the best way to do that is to obtain them with the returns you will eventually earn from your investments.
Most recruiters have the same wealth plan – which could best be described as “non-existent!” If you are successful at this profession you know the importance of planning – now you need to plan for your wealth.
I’m sure you have heard to “pay yourself first”, “put money away with every paycheck”, the problem with this advice is that money is usually too accessible and often becomes an “emergency fund”.
When you think wealth account to obtain assets, it becomes fun! You want to research assets that won’t require much of your time (you’re too busy recruiting) but that will eventually give you a lifestyle few people attain.
Think for a moment what you would do if you won a $100 million lottery. What specifically would you buy, where would you travel, how would your lifestyle change and what organizations would benefit by your wealth?
In the recruiting profession - YOU are your OWN lottery! Just figure out exactly what it is that you want and then back that goal into your current activity! The BIGGER the “WHY” the easier the “HOW”.
Maybe in the future there will be a TV show named Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous Recruiters! Sounds good to me how about you? If you just take that first step - possibilities will begin to flow into your life.
