Call Yourself After Hours!

We always stress the importance of the “FIRST IMPRESSION”! I’d like to discuss another subject this evening. What happens when someone calls you AFTER hours? I often arrange the details for my speaking engagements after hours. It is amazing to me how often I can not leave a message. Some prompts ask me to spell the name of the party I’m calling, others tell me to enter an extension number, and others just hang up on me. None of them are easy to follow, customer friendly or make me feel my call is important. I’ve also learned the hard way that many messages I leave in a “general mail box” are never retrieved. Email is being so over used; some clients “are” calling, but many times call us after hours. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR…call yourself this evening, and see what impression you leave on the “caller”. Can you tell I’m not having much success leaving messages on voice mail tonight? This brings up another important topic…if I’m your client and need to reach you do I have your cell phone number? I should!
